Sri Raja Rajeswari Devi Temple, Dargamitta, Nellore

 

Arul Jyothi Nagaraja Murthy who is Sri Rajarajeswari Peetadhipathi located in Arcot district of Tamil Nadu was going to Vijayawada in 1965 and he stopped at Dargamitta in Nellore to take rest for some time. He felt the presence of Goddess in the open land opposite to the place where he was taking rest. Jyothi Nagaraja Murthy then asked his disciple who was living in Nellore to construct a temple in that place.  Sri Ratnaswamy Mudaliar is the founder of the the Temple, he constructed the temple by seeking permission from the District Collector at that time.

 

Gradually Lord Ganesh, Subrahmanyeswara and Navagraha temples were constructed in the temple premises. Number of devotees visiting the temple also increased. In 1985 the temple was taken over by Endowment department. Later in 1993 a temple was built for Goddess Gayatri and in 1999 another temple was built for Lord Sri Sundareswara Swamy (Lord Shiva) Temple.

 

Devi Navaratrulu (Dussera) is a famous festival, which devotees celebrate here and offers prayers.
