banks of the River Pennar (also spelled Penna or Penneru).
The area of the district is 13,076 kmē. The district is bounded by the Bay
of Bengal to the east, the
Kadapa District to the west, the
Prakasam District to the north and the state of
Tamil Nadu & Chittor to the south.
